At
Pergo, the environment has played a central role in
everything we do since we first started making laminate
floors 30 years ago. It affects our products, our
production at our manufacturing facilities and our choice
of transport and packaging.
PERGO® is one of the best environmental choices in modern
flooring. At a time when more people are questioning the
way natural resources are being used, it is reassuring to
know that PERGO consists for the most part of recycled
materials.
In fact, 80% of our products content consists of wood
chips, a by-product from the forestry industry. And we use
only renewable wood from species such as pine and spruce –
never exotic woods or wood from rainforests.
PERGO® was the first laminate flooring to receive the
Nordic Ecolabel – the Swan, which is based on an
evaluation of the environmental impact of a product during
its whole life cycle. This label certifies that a PERGO
floor is a sound environmental choice.
Pergo was also the first flooring company to be certified
according to the environmental standard ISO 14001. In
addition, PEFC certification ensures that all the wood and
paper products are manufactured using raw materials from
renewable forests. |
